"The equivocating distinction between civilization and savagery, between rape, torture, humiliation, oppression and broken dreams trail many women whose bodies have been victims of acid burn, torn, and forgotten. Or, how many dead bodies shall it take to make this a "better world"? How many limbs of little children shall we collect in the flotsam of bodies that lay in eternal silence? Will the corpses be left in the rainfall to be washed of its dust? Or, when a young girl is forced to marry an older man in "in the name of honour"? How much longer the semblance that we are great at killing, robbing and at hating? As for me, when I search for myself I find the others -- when all these silhouettes keep me awake at night, I turn to my oil paints to manifest the unspoken - Ankahi. My collection is to incite dialogue with consummate friends on social political subjects I have relished painting. Through opening communication we can strive to make a difference."
