Pottery & Hobby Ceramics Instructor: Shahid Waheed Timings : 4pm - 6:00pm Days : Monday, tuesday & wednesday. Fee: * 4 weeks: Rs. 5000/- + glazing & firing. Total : Rs. 6,000/- * 6 weeks: Rs. 8000/- + glazing & firing. Total : Rs. 9,000/- * 8 weeks: Rs. 10,000/- + glazing & firing. Total : Rs. 12.000/- clay charges will be included in basic fee. Firing of the works will be done at end of course ( once ) for each course or combine with other students work. COURSE OUTLINE: This general pottery course is designed to give students the opportunity of expression through the use of various media and techniques. Various types and colours of clay as well as a variety of glazes are available for use. Kiln firing of all work will be carried out by arrangement with the KuchKhas program Organizer. While every effort will be made to fire work without delay. What is the course about? (Aims) The course aims to introduce complete beginners as well as more experienced students to the learning of techniques including coiling, slab and wheel work, modelling and much more. Incorporated into this course we have hobby ceramics introducing the techniques of the skilled potter through the simple yet professional means of moulds and related decorated media, ideal for the beginner. Are there specific requirements for joining? This course is ideally suited to those with or without experience. Do I need specific equipment or clothes? Tools and equipment will be provided, however, you can purchase your own if you wish. A apron or old shirt would be advisable when using the wheel. Course outline (outcomes)By the end of the course you will be able to produce pottery of varying shape, size and use, whether by hand or moulded with the help and advice of the experienced resident tutor; where possible using your own ideas, however, the tutor will provide ideas readily. How will I learn? Learning will be mainly tutor led, with demonstrations using a variety of learning materials and resources. How will my progress be recorded? Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of an Individual Learning Plan. Will there be homework? If so, how much homework will be voluntary: making a template of a particular shape, reading a book of your own choice on a related topic or taking a picture of a piece of pottery you may see in a museum or craft exhibition.
